We are hearing a lot about goddess energy these days, but many women, unfortunately, have felt both disconnected from their inner goddess or divine feminine and unworthy to embody her due to how this energy has been presented in our world.
There has been a lot of misrepresentation and misunderstanding. Before I go into what embodying our goddess entails, I would like to mention what I feel it is not.
It is not living up to impossible physical standards of beauty, contrary to how social media and celebrity culture present this. Neither does it mean women need to be perfect, flawless in their actions, and live up to the “good girl” image that society has placed on us. Embracing our inner goddess does not mean we become weak, disempowered, and subservient in a world driven by a more masculine way of being. It is, rather, about embracing our organic feminine power and the many facets of the divine feminine within us, light and dark. This has been disrespected and suppressed for a very long time.
Embodying the Goddess
Embodying our goddess energy is about making a conscious choice to ground into our physical bodies and connect to our inner sacredness as women. It is not enough to simply read about this and understand it from an intellectual point of view but to fully embody it by doing the inner work to forge a pathway back to our organic feminine selves.
This involves allowing yourself to become more receptive to receiving guidance from the wisdom of our bodies so that we can have access to the deep well of natural wisdom available to us. In addition, it requires us to courageously dive into our shadow and peel away layers of wounding in the cells of our bodies that are often uncomfortable to look at. While these remain unhealed, it is more difficult to tap into the power that lies beneath these wounds. It is only by committing to doing this inner work once and for all that we can fully embody our inner goddess in all her facets and feel more at home within ourselves.
Light & Dark Aspects of the Goddess
We find it easier to connect to the light aspect of the goddess as this feels safer and we feel accepted by our loved ones and by society in general. However, the aspect of us that is seen as “dark” due to patriarchal programming needs to be brought to the surface and integrated.
It is the wild, untamed part of us that speaks out unapologetically when our boundaries are violated. It is the voice of honest indignation when we are met with injustice, both in our own lives and in the world. It is the aspect of us that is not afraid to show our emotions, for example, anger, in case we may offend, as this is deemed unladylike and inappropriate. We need to honour our gentle feminine power but also that wild fierceness in equal measure.
It is only by embracing our light and dark that we can achieve a sense of inner fullness as goddesses, and this inner fullness prevents us from constantly seeking outside validation in order to feel whole.
Collective Healing
I believe that the restoration of the energy of the goddess and the divine feminine to her rightful place on Earth is key to healing collective trauma and the Earth herself. It is the missing link in our world. A key to restoring this is healing our wombs from thousands of years of collective trauma. The way forward is to allow space for this healing to occur, and what I have found is that until this aspect of our wounded feminine is given space, that sense of inner wholeness will elude us.
Womb Healing & Restoring the Goddess
Our wombs are sacred chalices designed to receive the highest form of light into them. They hold our sacred divine feminine blueprint.
However, as well as being centres of power, they also receive and hold all kinds of energies that can distort this and affect our ability to shine from our highest creative potential. This can be from this life, passed on via generational wounds, and from past lives.
Now more than ever, the world needs our light, and healing these wounds is part of this. Womb healing practices have helped me to heal wounds that prevented me from shining this light into the world. These wounds kept me in fear, anger, shame, and silence, disconnected from my feminine essence and unable to fully commit to my life purpose. They have helped me embrace and accept the light and dark within me as aspects of the divine feminine. My life has been filled with flow, abundance, and self-acceptance since I reconnected with my inner goddess. She has guided me back to my true self.
