Honey therapy – what, why, when?

Honey Therapy

Honey Therapy

There are two seasons in the year when we stress our bodies and our health. In the summer holidays – less sleep, more drinks, more food. We tend to be going on holiday to new places, having exciting times, tasting different foods, more coffee and sweets, perhaps more alcohol and cigarettes. Then in the winter time when it’s cold, wet, windy… We don’t want to go anywhere except maybe just to the nearest pub, cinema or restaurant. Less movement, heavier food, fewer vegetables and frozen fruit that has lost its nutrition and vitamins.

In both seasons our bodies and health systems start to struggle with what we are doing. Summer brings more toxins, winter more fat and weight gain.

Honey therapy helps us with our well-being. Honey is known as a natural antibiotic and booster for almost everything. We use it when we want something sweet instead of refined sugar, when we are cold or have flu, for cooking, for face and hair masks etc. Honey contains vitamins, trace enzymes, amino acids, and minerals like calcium, iron, sodium chlorine, phosphate, and potassium.

But how does it work as a massage therapy for our body?

Honey Therapy

Massage with honey has been known since ancient times to clean up the human organism. The massage acts on a deep level through the skin pores, the toxins and waste collected during the years are extracted with this treatment. It’s a tonic to strengthen the immune system which recovers the ability to fight disease and along with it many benefits for good health in general. Honey therapy can reduce allergies, depression, insomnia, back pain, anorexia, migraine, rheumatism, skin problems and more. These benefits are gained through manual massage on the back using flower honey with no sugar and a specific massage technique. The duration of the massage is between 15 and 20 minutes. The honey replaces the extracted toxins with vitamins and minerals needed to boost our immune system.

For a full detox honey therapy is recommended at two points in the year for a duration of 20 days consecutively. In Autumn during the months of September and October which prepares us for winter and again in Spring during the months of April and May for the upcoming summertime. For a health boost honey therapy can be used once a week and as a prophylactic once a month.
