Allergies and intolerances have increased in our modern societies and affect a wide range of people of different ages (from infants to adults) and varying backgrounds.

What is the difference between an allergy and intolerance?

An allergy is usually a life threatening condition such as anaphylaxis (for example- struggling to breathe, tightness in the throat, increased heart rate) and requires immediate medical assistance. It may also manifest as severe aggravation to the skin with swelling.  Intolerance is less severe. Examples of this could be symptoms such as bloating, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and headaches. Intolerances can present serious long-term issues, if ignored. An allergy test is highly advisable in order to determine what is causing these symptoms. Allergy testing takes on many different forms, some are more invasive than others.  In the first instance a full consultation to discuss dietary, medical and lifestyle history is scheduled. My practice involves non-invasive muscle testing, which is where a reaction is sought from the client’s body to find positive or negative reactions to the suspected allergens. In some cases, diaries / food logs are also recommended for a period of time, assisting in pin-pointing when and how reactions occur. Allergy tests are not exclusive to problems with foods we eat, but can also relate to products we use and the environments we live in, the tests may involve a variety of products. In addition to allergy testing, I am qualified in Iridology and this assists in detecting health concerns.

Iridology is also a non-invasive diagnostic tool, where the therapist will observe the iris of your eyes through a magnifying glass.  A map of our entire body is found in the iris of the eyes, similarly to the way in which reflexology maps our bodies in our feet. This is done to detect any irregularities or manifestation of illness in the body, also giving insight into a person’s systemic health and nutritional deficiency. The irises of our eyes are linked to our brains through nerve endings, which connect to every organ and tissue in our bodies via the nervous system. The practice of iridology was first discovered by Dr Ignatz Von Peczely, a Hungarian doctor who noticed a distinct marking in the iris of an owl’s eye when it broke its leg.  Over time, as the owl’s leg healed the marking faded. I’ve had experience in detecting organ abnormalities as well as skeletal injuries and various other ailments, by tracing these markings to the relevant parts of the body.

I have had a keen interest in alternative medicine from an early age and have used natural cures to heal irregularities in my own body with success. I’ve detected and resolved my own allergies and after sustaining an injury that was incorrectly diagnosed, I set about finding therapies and natural ways to heal myself. Finding a solution to manage pain without the use of conventional medication was important. I am delighted to say, that the end result has been positive and I am healthier than I have been for years. I feel rejuvenated and have become qualified to recommend dietary and nutritional changes, where necessary recommending supplements if appropriate.  My experience is consulting on a wide variety of health conditions. I assist my clients in holistically restoring their health and vitality.
