February is always a month filled with thoughts of Valentine’s Day and how we can show one another love.
How about loving ourselves and our bodies first and foremost.
Here are a few fruits that will aid you in maintaining a healthy body.
Cherries are tasty & filled with healthy nutrients.
I find they are beneficial for improving the quality of sleep. They have been widely reported to help insomnia and also have anti-aging properties. They may improve heart health and are beneficial for arthritic symptoms due to their anti-inflammatory properties. They have a low glycemic index, are full of polyphenols, Vitamin C and rich in iron and fibre content. They have a higher level of potassium than apples or strawberries. The good news is that they are fat free and very low in calories, so great for those on a weight reduction program.
Let’s look at Strawberries.
They are among the top 20 highest antioxidant fruits. A brilliant source of magnesium, potassium, Vitamin C, folate and antioxidants called anthocyanins.

I love strawberries as I do cherries, they are especially tasty in a protein smoothie, or fresh on their own, maybe with crème fraiche or cream if you prefer. They are known to reduce inflammation, aid heart health, boost cognitive function and aid in digestion. Some people can be allergic to strawberries so please bear this in mind. If you develop an intolerance or have a full blown allergic reaction, it is always important to consult a physician immediately.
Last but not least there are lovely juicy red apples.
Which one is your favourite?
I like red crispy gala apples which are full of fibre called pectin and high in antioxidants, yet low in calories.

They also contain Vitamin K, potassium and Vitamin B6. They are sweet, grainy apples that have a thinner skin than most apples which I find easier to digest. Apples are known to protect your heart health, boost brain health and are a great way to lower your risk of cancer. They are also excellent as part of a calorie controlled diet, or as I prefer to call it a weight management lifestyle. When we adhere to this type of lifestyle, we are consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which make for happier and healthier lives.
Love your Body
In loving ourselves and our bodies, let’s remember we are all unique & should not be comparing ourselves with anyone else.
Love your body for what it does for you each day, without it you would not enjoy all the wonders that life has to offer. Hence it is so vital for each one of us to maintain a healthy weight, keep a fresh wholesome daily diet and exercise as often as we can.
