For Beginners

Knowing how to manage triggers and symptoms that show up in our nervous system is essential if you want to enjoy more freedom, vitality, and better relationships. This checklist will help you work through what you need and how you can integrate this healing into your life.

To do this, with support and feeling fully resourced, you can…

  • Learn the fundamentals of what trauma is, what your experience of it is, and how it affects your daily life. Learn how it has impacted you, and know you are not alone.
  • Start to educate yourself, and pull in all the resources needed, in the area that is most meaningful to you.
  • Put together a ‘toolkit’ of all the support and resources, learn the language, and find your community.
  • Share, connect, and build a sense of belonging in a way that is doable to you. This may be a community of you and one other, it may be several groups, your response to the window of tolerance your nervous system can hold.
  • Build a strong more resilient Nervous System to support your emotional and mental health.
  • Reduce Hypervigilance and increase focus and clarity.
  • Practice Somatic Mindfulness and head off Inner Critic attacks
  • Cultivate a loving, kind relationship with yourself
  • Discover your true nature, your natural blueprint under all the trauma imprints that have held you back, keeping you small and stunting your growth

Embarking on a journey to understand and address trauma is a profound act of self-care and empowerment. By learning about its nature, impact, and the resources available, you affirm your commitment to healing and growth. As you assemble your toolkit and find your community, remember that healing is a deeply personal journey, tailored to your needs and capacity. By nurturing a resilient nervous system, fostering mindfulness, and cultivating self-compassion, you pave the way for profound transformation. Embrace the journey of discovering your true nature beyond the imprints of trauma, and step into a future where you thrive with authenticity and resilience.
