As we embrace the festive season and anticipate a break from our regular routines, one young swimmer is breaking the mould.

Reese’s commitment to her craft knows no bounds, as she continues her rigorous training throughout the Christmas period in preparation for the upcoming Kent Counties in February at the iconic London Aquatics Centre (LAC), Stratford.

Reese recently made waves as she represented the Arena League squad in round 3 in Margate, showcasing her prowess in four challenging races. Competing in the 4x50m freestyle relay, 4x50m medley relay, 100m fly for 16yr and under, and 100m fly for 15yr and under, Reese not only dominated her individual races but also collaborated with her team to achieve victory, securing the top spot overall with an impressive 7-point lead over the competition. The RTW Monson team, boasting a youthful line up, left an indelible mark with their outstanding performance.

The young swimmer continued her stellar month by participating in the Club Championships, where she achieved a remarkable nine personal bests out of the thirteen events she contested.

Reese’s medal tally included one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, solidifying her status as a rising star in the swimming world.

With these outstanding results, Reese has not only secured eight automatic times for the highly competitive Kents but has also earned seven consideration times for the 15-year-old female age group, a testament to her consistent excellence in the pool.

In a bold move, Reese took on the 1500m freestyle event for the first time, emerging victorious in her age group with a phenomenal time of 17:54.58. Her triumph extended to winning the girls open category, making her the fastest girl in the club for this event. This outstanding achievement now ranks Reese as the number one swimmer in Kent and the Southeast Region for the 1500m freestyle, setting the stage for an exhilarating performance at the upcoming Kent Counties in a Long Course pool (50m).

As we look ahead to the new year, Reese has a plethora of exciting opportunities on the horizon, including her participation in an international swim camp scheduled for February. Embracing her journey with enthusiasm, Reese remains focused on improvement, seizing every opportunity to refine her skills and elevate her performance.
