Our breath, one of the most powerful tools in our own healing journey!

Many people are familiar with breathwork in the form of Pranayama and meditations. But Somatic breathwork journeys, although been around for many years still is not a familiar phrase for many.  I was no different when I underwent my first journey last year.

And I was mind-blown by the experience. And the first thought I had as I opened my eyes was ‘I have to take this to people’.

I was in a difficult space then and deeply needed to heal and be able to move forward in my life with self-love and courage to take action. That session helped move so much stuck energy from my body and being. While I couldn’t name what had shifted, I felt something transform. In the days and weeks that followed, I made life-changing decisions with a clarity I hadn’t felt in a long time.

That was the beginning.

Every journey since has had a different impact, depending on where I am in life.

I’ve made breathwork a regular part of my life — because there is always something to work through, and every session supports that transformation.

What is Somatic Breathwork?

Breathwork is more than just breathing. It is conscious breathing based on the principles of Conscious Connected Breathwork. It involves high ventilation continuous, rhythmic breathing practice. A large amount of inhaled oxygen creates a change in our physiology, which further creates a change in our psychology and in that state, we are able to experience altered states of consciousness which facilitates deep level healing & transformation.

Why Somatic Breathwork

Our body (Soma) remembers everything even when our mind forgets.

Emotions are energy in motion. But when we are not able to process our emotions properly, for example from past wounds, trauma, fears, anxieties, abandonment, rejection, sorrow, grief, shame, guilt, this energy gets stuck in our body and shows up in our life in many ways including ache, pains, fatigue, chronic health issues.

Somatic Breathwork moves you from the inside out — your healing working through your body to the mind by moving this stuck energy. No forcing. No overthinking. Just your own breath unlocking what’s been stuck for far too long.

Imagine the embarrassment of standing in front of the entire school and forgetting your lines on stage; or being abandoned by a parent; irrespective of the magnitude of the event, sometimes we cannot process the emotions that surround these circumstances and they stay held in our body deep within; only to show up in forms that may or may not have any visible correlation to their origin – public speaking fear, not wanting to go to big events, not liking crowds, not feeling attached to your own child, not having self-worth, just to name a few. And because our conscious mind cannot see the connection until we dip into the subconscious, we cannot change anything. Somatic breathwork, goes beyond the mind into the body to help release this stored energy and supports access to our subconscious allowing deep healing – healing from the body to the mind.

Benefits

What Happens in a Breathwork Journey

A full breathwork session typically takes about 90 minutes. This includes grounding meditation, intention setting, high ventilation breathing for about 25-30 minutes, rest and integration time and space to share and process the journey before it ends.

In each session, led by the intention, you breathe consciously, and allow your body to release what’s ready to move, and anchoring you back into your own deep wisdom.

One breath at a time.

I take this one step further by bringing in chakra readings and angel cards into my one to one private sessions adding more layers of going deeper and unfolding.

Are You Ready?

My clients have shared beautiful experiences from their own journeys — from deep peace and gratitude, to receiving messages from the subconscious or loved ones, to feeling the presence of their ancestors. Some have had powerful visions, emotional release, or a renewed connection with themselves.

But no two journeys are the same. You may experience all of this or none of it — and still, healing always happens. Sometimes it’s subtle, and we only notice the shift days or weeks later. Sometimes it’s immediate. Either way, something begins to move.

Are you ready to go beyond the mind… into the wisdom that your body has been holding all along?
