Chakras Tell A Story

I had spent over an hour with my client talking about what was troubling her. We kept going in circles as she talked about all the challenges that she felt she was facing but not being able to pinpoint anything that was causing so much restlessness and anxiety. So, I asked her to settle in her chair and close her eyes. It was time to move into the body rather than the conscious mind.

As she scanned her body, she noticed this heaviness and pain in the middle of her chest. I asked her, what are you not willing to accept. And tears started flowing as she for the first time started speaking about what was actually troubling her.

I am not psychic. I use the wisdom of the metaphysical knowledge of chakras that helps decode our limiting beliefs and thoughts.

What Are Chakras

Chakras are energy centres in the body that govern different physical, emotional and spiritual aspect of our being. They are connected to our endocrine glands and nervous system. They regulate our life force or prana.

When the energy is balanced in these centres, we experience a balance in our being. This balance expresses in our life as vitality, creativity, resilience, inner strength, clarity, spiritual connectedness, courage, honour, safety, harmony, trust & flow. However, when the energy is blocked, it shows up as emotional, physical and spiritual disturbances in our life.

There are 7 major chakras and over 250 minor chakras in our body. The picture shows our major chakras.

Aligning Your 7 Major Chakras

I love working with chakras as any alignment work that I do on myself immediately shows up in the balance it creates in how I am feeling, responding and acting. Do you have those days when you get out of bed and everything irritates you no matter how hard you try to keep your cool? Well, your chakras are definitely not aligned that morning.

Here are some ways you can align your major chakras on your own:

  1. Do a chakra balancing meditation
  2. Do yoga that targets specific chakras e.g. the Tree Pose for root chakra, child’s pose for third eye.
  3. Hold Crystals aligned to chakras e.g. amethyst for crown, green opal for heart
  4. Recite affirmations aligned to each chakra
  5. Chant chakra mantras or listening to sound frequencies tuned to each chakra
  6. Do a quick Chakra Sweep (See the technique I use here)

Connection Between Chakras & Limiting Beliefs & Thoughts

Energy centres are deeply connected to our consciousness, emotions and life experiences.  It is important to understand that everything is energy. And as emotional beings, if we have not been able to process our emotions well through our life experiences and past life experiences, the limiting beliefs we pick up on the way, the negative stories we tell ourselves as a result, all of it gets accumulated in our body as blocked energy disrupting the balance of the chakras. And over a period of time, it can start showing up in the form of physical, mental, emotional illnesses/disturbances.

How Does This Knowledge Help?

We may recognise that there is a problem that we are facing. What we don’t easily recognise is the source of the problem. Because often, the source is sitting in the subconscious tucked away far from our conscious mind, hidden from our awareness. For example, the problem may be that a person is constantly looking for external validation and indulges in people pleasing. But where is this tendency coming from, what in their life has created this need and why are they not being able to change it. Consciously they may not be able to recollect or understand the reason behind this. However, doing a reading of the chakras gives deep insight into where the energy is stuck and what the limiting beliefs the person is carrying to lead to this behaviour. It helps to dive deeper to unravel the root cause.

In the above example, a reading may point in the direction of the person having a limiting belief that they are not good enough. Further reading can also help understand where this limiting belief is coming from in their life. It may point to constant sibling comparison that made them feel inadequate and eroded their self-esteem. The awareness that comes as each layer unfolds is healing for the person in itself; but can also be then used to release this stuck energy through coaching and somatic practices like meditation, vagal toning and breathwork.

As a holistic practitioner, I find this knowledge so powerful in supporting the journey of my clients as it unravels what the conscious mind cannot.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life & you will call it fate.”
