Discover the Transformative Power of Ice Water Immersion with LEVEL’s Ice Baths
I did it! I did it! I made an icy splash! I went on a wonderful Wim Hof workshop courtesy of Dan Hughes of Vitae Vi and now I am using LEVEL‘s portable Ice bath, at home, on a daily basis!
Nestled next to a picturesque meadow in Westbourne, West Sussex, the WOW Clinic, led by Dan and Karyn, offers a haven for exploring the transformative Wim Hof Method. This method, developed by Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof, combines deep breathing exercises, cold therapy, and commitment to enhance mental and physical health.
At a recent workshop, certified Wim Hof Method instructor Dan Hughes guided participants through powerful breathing exercises, breath retention, and safety aspects of cold immersion. The serene setting, complete with grazing horses, added a meditative quality to the experience. Participants learned to control their breath and embrace the cold, feeling invigorated and resilient after stepping out of the ice bath (Note that Dan uses a stock-tank steel bath for durability and ease of cleaning for his workshops, pictured below).
Before attending this workshop, I was intimidated by my portable ice bath from LEVEL.which sat in its box at home. However, the supportive environment and Dan’s expert guidance have inspired me to fully embrace this practice. The breathwork and ice bath experience have become a new, exciting journey towards better health and resilience.
For anyone looking to reset and reconnect, I highly recommend experiencing the Wim Hof Method and incorporating LEVEL’s portable ice baths into your routine. The combination of breathwork and cold exposure strengthens the body, calms the mind, and lifts the spirit, offering a unique pathway to improved well-being.
Please Note
Safety Statement for Ice Water Bathing
Ice water bathing can be an invigorating and beneficial practice when done correctly. However, it is essential to prioritize safety to avoid potential risks. We highly encourage anyone interested in ice water bathing to participate in a Wim Hof Method workshop beforehand. These workshops provide comprehensive training on cold exposure techniques, promoting gradual exposure and mental focus, ensuring that you are well-prepared and knowledgeable about the process.
Remember, your safety is paramount. Never attempt ice water bathing without proper training and always listen to your body. If you feel uncomfortable or unwell at any point, exit the water immediately. For additional safety, have a friend or companion nearby during your ice bath sessions.
Stay safe, stay informed, and enjoy the benefits of ice water bathing responsibly.
Important Tips:
- Gradually acclimate your body to cold exposure.
- Enter the ice bath with a calm state of mind.
- Limit your time in the ice bath to avoid hypothermia. You get all the benefits after about 90 secs in ice water
- Have warm clothes and a towel ready.
- Warm up naturally, avoid the temptation to drink hot drinks or take a hot shower for a couple of hours after your ice bath!
