A door between the conscious and unconscious mind.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is defined as a natural altered state of consciousness, but what is that?

Have you ever experienced the feeling of getting somewhere, driving or walking, and not knowing exactly where you went? Have you ever read a book or watched a film and got so immersed in it that time flies away? The same when you are talking with your fellows… Well, that state of altered consciousness is very similar to hypnosis.

We enter a trance, which is nothing else than the moment in which we are in transit, that is, passing from our conscious to our unconscious. If you like the cinema or you are an avid reader, you may have had more than one moment in which you have been completely abstracted from reality and have concentrated so much on reading or on the film that you stopped paying attention to what was happening around you. What is happening around you has gone into the background and the here and now is only what you perceive of your connection with the story or with the film.

This happens in a natural and spontaneous way almost daily and is what we try to reproduce when performing hypnosis. It is about “disconnecting” the conscious part to connect with our unconscious, with the database where all the information we perceive is stored.

What do you feel like in hypnosis?

Some believe that hypnosis is a kind of “dream”, in fact its etymological root thus suggests, “Hypnos” the Greek dream god. Nothing is further from reality. Hypnosis is a deep relaxation, deeper more relaxed and intense, in which we access capabilities that “awakened” we cannot use.

As an example, the amount of information that we are continuously receiving unconsciously, from which we filter a tiny part of our consciousness, is what generates our reality and is different for each one of us. The rest of the information remains as unprocessed and, normally, ignored waste that is stored in the deepest parts of the mind.

So, during hypnosis we are aware of our environment, we are the protagonists ourselves and we decide what action we do or not. One of the greatest stigmas the practice of hypnosis has is none other than the fear of losing control of our actions. The guide, the therapist, will invite us to follow a series of mental processes, visualisations or relaxations by which he will try to connect us with our sensitive part, our “I” beyond prejudice or limitation.

We will be ourselves, and decide whether we accompany him. Our mental openness allows us to continue the journey, letting ourselves be carried away but we are the ones who mark the limit of what we do or are willing to do.

The practice, in itself, is a harmless process, in which if we do not agree with something suggested by the therapist we can decide whether we perform the action or the thought, decide whether we want to continue with the process or remain instead in our own interior reflecting on everything that circumscribes our mind.

And what about Hipnoempowerment?

Hipnoempowerment is a tool created and taught by Charly Relaño which combines different ways of instant and energetic hypnosis with many other disciplines, such as card reading and oracle telling, which are focused on getting information from the unconscious mind of the person, and NLP, coaching and other disciplines.

This is an international certification endorsed by the European Academy of Neurosciences, Economics and Humanities (AENEH) and the International Council for Emotional, Personal and Spiritual development (ICOEPS).
