Love Your Body, Mind Your Thoughts

Have you ever looked in the mirror and questioned the way you look?

“Why is my face this way?”

“Oh my god, look at those wrinkles!”

“I don’t like my teeth!”

When you call something beautiful—every day, all day—it begins to embody beauty. Your body is the only thing you truly own, and even that is on loan. So, why not talk to it like it’s your best friend? Treat it with kindness, knowing that both you and your body are doing your best with what you currently know and understand.

The Power of Thought & Reflection

The Mind influences

The Body experiences

The Soul observes

When the mind tells the body, “You are beautiful,” the body reflects back to the mind, “You are beautiful.” This cycle of self-love and appreciation is witnessed by the soul—the spirit that observes our inner dialogue.

Now, imagine someone gives you a heartfelt compliment: “Wow, you look incredible.” Later, you hear this same person criticise herself: “Why am I so ugly? My hair is too thin. Look at my arms.” How does that compliment feel now? Does it still hold weight?

Breaking the Cycle of Self-Criticism

Here’s what I hear all the time:

“But I am a giver.”

“But I can’t call myself beautiful because I am not.”

“I can compliment others, but I just can’t compliment myself.”

What I see in these women is the “good girl”—the peacekeeper, the one who learned that if she behaved a certain way, her parents, teachers, and partners would be happy with her. Did I hear you say “people pleaser”? Yes, let’s add that in too. In striving to keep others happy, these same women forgot their own divine essence.

Reclaiming Your Inner Power

It’s time to embrace your inner beauty with gratitude for the gifts you and your body hold. When we struggle to receive compliments from ourselves or others, we disempower ourselves. Are you ready to reclaim your inner power? Are you ready to embark on a journey to real self-love?

If so, check out my Self-Healing Meditation Series on YouTube, where I guide you through a healing journey—moving from head to toe—to lovingly embrace your body. This series helps you become aware of how you speak to yourself, observe without judgment, and develop compassion for where these thoughts may stem from in childhood.

Judgment leads to a greater need for healing. Compassion, on the other hand, opens the heart and reminds us: I am not better than you, and you are not better than me.

We are each on this journey to love, to assess our shortcomings, & to use them as soil to grow—better, not bitter.
