Do you have goals?
Goals that you know would have a positive impact on how you feel? I think we all do.
These goals could be sleeping better, losing the extra weight gained during a holiday, being less stressed, working out more, eating healthier, improving some relationships, getting out of stressful debts etc. We all have goals that we want to achieve, and we all, more or less, know what we would need to do to achieve them; stop buying fast food, stop watching TV until early morning, stop buying stuff online we don’t need, take some time off our mobile devices, starting a self-care practice etc.
We have goals and we know roughly how to achieve them. Yet, we don’t. We get frustrated, demoralised, think it’s too hard, think it’s impossible and we give up; fall back into our old patterns and we are left feeling lonely and ashamed. We have all been there. Actually, did you know that 80% of New Years Resolutions are abandoned in February, and only 6% of these resolutions are kept throughout the year!?
Change is difficult
Changing is difficult; especially if you try to change some habits you have had for a long time, and if you try to change them alone.
And here comes the role of a Health and Wellness Coach. A Health and Wellness Coach can provide this extra help you need. Not only to fully commit to your goals, but also stay committed to them, and follow through on everything you need to in order to be successful.
A Health and Wellness Coach is here to help you cross the bridge between where you are now, and where you want to be. They’re here to listen to your struggles and help you troubleshoot them; to support you, encourage you, and cheer you up. But also to keep you accountable if you fall off track; if you don’t do what you said you will do. A Health and Wellness Coach is here as an ally, working with you step-by-step until you reach the goal you have in mind.
Sounds good! But, how exactly does it work?
In your sessions with your Health and Wellness Coach, you will talk about yourself, your goals, your strengths, your weaknesses, your achievements and your dreams.
Establishing where you are now compared to where you want to be. Your coach will help you identify the areas to focus on, and help you come up with some action points which you will work against. Every session, you will celebrate your success towards your action points, review what didn’t work, think ahead of what is to come and continue to progress this way until you achieve your goal(s).
All action points you will be asked to follow through, will be decided by you with the support of your Coach. You shouldn’t, at any time, be asked to do something you are not ready to do. You are in control and the Coach is only there as a guide and support.
This process will transform you, you will learn about yourself, you will gain confidence in yourself and most probably be surprised by everything you manage to achieve! Working with a Coach will help you reach your goals and understand your patterns. Your Coach will be here to empower you, reveal your true potential, and help you feel the best you have ever felt!
