What is Medicine with Words?

Medicine with Words is a safe space where you can start a creative journey that “spring cleans” your mind with me, founder Elizabeth Blake-Thomas.

Removing the everyday noise that we all experience. Stopping and breathing in the air around us. Powerful changes can be expected when we open ourselves up to creativity. Medicine with Words can facilitate teaching yourself how to handle your purpose, allowing yourself permission to grow and be creative in this new world in which we find ourselves. You can start this journey at any age, no matter what awareness you already have, regardless of your background or current career. It’s never too early or too late to begin this transformative journey.

If the world around you was your ideal, what would you create?

Through research and my own self-reflection, I turned inward to rewire my mental state in order to lead a more purposeful, peaceful life. Out of that personal growth, friends, family, and strangers alike noticed my positive change and asked how I’d done it.

From that, “Medicine with Words” was born to create the mind coach I’d wish I had and to share my newfound tools with others.

I have published two books, travelled the world, been a professor at Pepperdine University, created a podcast, and directed and produced over 20 films. I have been a theatre director for 20 years, a film director for 6 years, a home schooling teacher for 11 years, and a mother for 20 years (and counting).

When I’m running Medicine with Words, I’m not a writer, a director, a traveler, or a professor. All of these experiences feed into my practice, think of me as a personal trainer for your mind.

During the next 11 months, you will read 11 articles each with an exercise based on one of my tools. These will help you to find your purpose and live your life with intention.

Are you ready?

I can’t wait to share these exercises and watch the growth and change within us all. After each exercise think about your answers, were there things that surprised you about yourself? Was there anything new that you have learned? Create a journal so that we can look back over the year and see if you’ve made any different intentional choices learning more about yourself.
