At the start of a New Year many of us will be prompted to self-reflect and do our own personal review of the year just gone.
If you had told me this time last year that I would have moved from Southern England where I had lived all my life – I’m now 57 – to Northern Ireland where I had never been before and would be qualified as an Emotion Code Practitioner as well as training to be a Yoga Teacher, I would have said ‘what’s the Emotion Code and don’t be silly!’
2018 for me was a year of huge unexpected change born out of much loss and sadness. Now everything and I mean everything in my life has evolved beyond anything I could have imagined.
This is not an article about me, but a recognition of the importance of trust, surrender, self-belief; and how we can self-sabotage our potential by listening to and believing the stories that are woven around us. It’s about how the many traumatic events throughout our lives can trap the emotions associated with that experience and stay with us. How unwelcome energy manifesting as physical and emotional symptoms hold back growth and limit us reaching our full potential.
I came across the Emotion Code by accident through a friend of a friend who needed volunteers to gain her certification. Having already moved to Northern Ireland and really not knowing quite why I happily agreed. I approached the experience over Skype with honesty and openness and discovered much more about myself than I would have thought possible. During the sessions it came to me that I resonated so deeply with the method of identifying the emotions and how it felt to me to be free of them that I would like to train in the technique myself.
What is the Emotion Code?
So to explain more. The Emotion Code is an energy healing technique that helps identify and release trapped emotions which are harmful emotional energies from negative/traumatic past events.
I’m not alone in carrying around a certain amount of emotional baggage from painful life events. Emotional baggage is very real; and although it’s invisible it can easily disrupt your happiness, your success and your health.
The Emotion Code uses a simple method of muscle testing, which can be done face to face or remotely, to identify which emotions have been trapped these often relate to very memorable events. A therapeutic magnet is then used to release the emotion. Many emotions have been stuck in the physical body for years serving no purpose.
As a Therapist by intending to release the emotion the magnet is used to amplify the energy of the intention via the Governing Meridian (as in Acupuncture).
The Governing Meridian is an energy reservoir that connects directly to all the acupuncture meridians of the entire body. So when energy is put into the Governing Meridian, it flows instantly throughout the body and the trapped emotion is released.
We are not aware of these emotions though the emotion chart used can be very reminiscent of repetitive behaviors! By connecting with the subconscious these can be identified in a very gentle and effective manner.
What I found was reassuring was that your subconscious will not allow you to deal with anything you cannot handle. You will only be allowed to remember what you need to in order to bring the emotion up to the surface to be released. You do not have to reveal or share your story unless you wish to. There is no need to relive and vocalise the events that caused the emotions to be trapped and that for me was quite refreshing. It is often not helpful to repetitively and openly share a painful time in your life.

My experience from the loss of these trapped emotions was to feel ‘freer’, ‘lighter’ and have a clarity around why certain circumstances ’pushed buttons’ and spiraled me into repetitive patterns.
Everything changes and the Emotion Code can be a useful step in the direction of a new and positive direction in your life, minus that heavy old suitcase of ‘baggage’.
