How Reiki works
The Universal Energy of Reiki permeates deeply into the recipient and using a power and intelligence of its own will go to the often hidden root cause of the problem and help to dissolve away blockages which are preventing our natural life energy force from flowing freely.
A bad back for example may be a symptom of a physical problem due to lifting heavy items or it may be that an emotional issue is manifesting itself on the physical level as back pain.
Our environment can for different reasons be out of balance as can we all as individuals. Reiki is a pure, very subtle and gentle healing energy but is not a miracle cure, however it is a healing energy that will always work for our highest good and which can help to bring us back into line with our true selves. When blockages within us are dissolved away then our energy flows freely and we can begin to live our lives more harmoniously and will feel a greater sense of wellbeing.
What happens during a Reiki session?
During a Reiki session the client will usually lay down on a therapy couch, although if you are unable to lie down or would find this uncomfortable then you may sit in a chair. You will remain fully clothed and only need to remove your shoes.
Reiki energy is then channelled through the practitioner’s hands which are gently placed on or near the body in various positions. Reiki is very gentle and there is no massage or manipulation involved. During the session you may feel warm heat or tingling, or you may just feel incredibly relaxed.
Other ways of giving Reiki
The most direct way to give Reiki is hands on but there are several other ways to give Reiki, here are a few that we use here at Engra Holistics.
Distant Reiki
Distant Reiki healing can be sent to you whether you are in a different room, building, city or even country and can be just as powerful as if you were receiving it directly.
Reiki Drumming
Reiki Drumming combines the use of shamanic drumming and Reiki.
The drumbeat is one of the oldest and most sacred sounds that we can use to access consciousness and healing. During a Reiki drum session, the rhythm of the drum is used to introduce Reiki into the client’s energy field. This is followed by a normal Reiki session to integrate the healing process.
Reiki and Reflexology
I also use Reiki intuitively whilst giving Reflexology to clients when required.
