Sssshhhh…Quiet! The Noise!

I don’t know about you but the red notifications on my phone, the pinging of emails, the constant news updates can drive you insane!

When does it turn off?

Never!

We live in a world where it is possible to get hold of someone 24/7 and share knowledge or news. 

Imagine being able to quieten the noise and turn it all off. Of course this might scare you or cause more stress so I’m not suggesting going off grid for a week, well not yet anyway! But there is a way to consciously decide to turn off from the world, people, technology, life even for ten minutes a day. 

Work out what you can turn off from, put practical things in place to help you, maybe ask a friend to sit with your phone, so if there is an emergency they will come and get you.

Maybe it’s as simple as just having time boundaries during the day. 

All I know is that by taking time away to allow your brain to breathe without distraction will mean you can work and be present much more effectively. 

How do you feel when your phone dings with a new notification? Does seeing the red bubble stress you out? How about you remove this stress or distraction from your day?

  1. Make a list of fun things to do instead of using technology. 
  2. For a minimum of 1 hour or longer, lock your technology away & do not touch it.
  3. Write down how you felt & what you did instead of using technology.
